CHILDHOOD NOW AND IN THE PAST

Years 5A and 5B are working together with their partners of Year 5 in St Augustine's (Norwich -UK) on a project on childhood. Our students wrote about being a child in Buenos Aires and also interviewed older people in their families to learn how childhood in Argentina was in the past. Here are two fantastic posters they have created. Congratulations!!

http://es.padlet.com/lauragiancarlo/erlmqylgwcxz
Together with their Spanish, English and IT teachers, Year 5 worked on a a glogster about different cities in Argentina. In English, we contributed with this padlet about Buenos Aires, with a special dedication to our friends in Norwich and a "Happy Holidays" video (http://youtu.be/cW_MZ0Ezxqc)

HAVE A FANTASTIC SUMMER!

DECEMBER 2013

RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Students discussed and classified cards into "NEEDS" and "WANTS" to make this poster. For every card they discussed:
1 - Is it something that everybody wants?,
2 - Should it be the right of everyone to have this?,
3 - What would happen if everyone had this?,
4 - Would anyone be harmed or suffer if they did not have this?
Then we talked about "RIGHTS": these important things that every child needs and are part of the Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC). You can see more on this playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUwDH1ef0grIMPXf-zt8hbX5qeOJgMSMG

NOVEMBER IN YEAR 5:
We wanted to show our school to our partners in the UK so we took lots of photographs, then uploaded them onto edmodo and everybody commented on them. Finally we put everything together to make this poster:http://padlet.com/wall/x8c3kz1s10

NOVEMBER IN YEAR 6B: LIST POEMS

We enjoyed and discussed two of Ian McMillan's list poems and then we wrote our own.. Here's Fiona's "What I Found in my Mum's pocket" and Santiago's "Things I found in my dog's pocket"
----
I found in my dog's pocket:
-a sky
-a policeman
-a computer
-a missile
-a house

Ten Things Found in a Shipwrecked Sailor’s Pocket
A litre of sea
An unhappy jellyfish.
A small piece of lifeboat.
A pencil wrapped around with seaweed.
A soaking feather.
The first page of a book called ‘Swimming is easy.’
A folded chart showing dangerous rocks.
A photograph of a little girl in a red dress.
A gold coin.
A letter from a mermaid.

Advertisements in Year 7B:

We analyzed some ads like:  "Your calling is calling", "You are more beautiful than you think" and "Disconnect to connect" You can watch them on this link: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUwDH1ef0grI_4Y6RmusZx8cJs9iNCFY8

We discussed what their messages are... Don't waste your talents. Don't waste water. Learn that you are beautiful.  Swith off your mobile phone and pay attention to people around you. Learn English!

Then, we made some graphic and video ads: Nicole advertised "Eagle" chocolate and Milagros and Brisa launched a new perfume... Carla made a beautiful video ad about "using computers reasonably" (Pity we can't upload it!)
